It is Tag Friday, as well as announcing our Winner and Pinworthies over at A Vintage Journey today and some of the Creative Guides (DT) have some tag inspiration for you. Please do pop over and have a look, they have some wonderful tags to inspire you!
The current challenge at A Vintage Journey was chosen by the very talented Chris who chose 'Time Flies' as her theme and it still has a week to run. For my tag I have decided to stick with the theme that Chris chose and I have made a 'time traveler' tag. I keep seeing advertisements for Dr Who, who is returning to our television screens this month and I may have had that in the back of my mind....... here is my finished tag:
As a rule I do not plan my tags, I just start and see what I end up with but on this one I had a good idea of how I wanted it to look and so I gathered my bits and pieces together. I took some of Tim's latest release of Eclectic Elements fabric and cut a tag with Tim's tag die, stitched this to a No. 8 Manila tag and tied some of the waste fabric at the top.
I did change my mind and left the butterfly off and added some cogs instead I added the Weathered Clock in black card and the man is a sticker which comes from the French Industrial Salvage Stickers collection. I inked around the edges of the tag with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I added a pediment, another of Tim's dies to the bottom and attached a ticket from one of the Ephemera sets for my time traveller to 'stand on.
Thanks for looking, I do hope you will go over HERE and see what my lovely teamies have made. Hope to see you soon. Hugs, Anne xx
You always have such fabulous tags, Anne!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been such a lazy blogger this summer with comments.
I have a lot of difficulty leaving them on my phone and that is where I do most of my blog reading these days.
It was really fun to see how this incredible tag came together, Annie! I do love that you said you often just start creating and see where it takes you. It does happen like that sometimes, doesn't it? Your works of art are always fabulous to me, planned or extemporaneous!! I love this!! Hugs, Darnell

Well done Sugar - one smashing tag! That old gentleman is quite distinguished looking.
ReplyDeleteOf course I am calling him old and he is probably younger than I am! We take two kids out west and he goes to Paris. I do know for a fact that when one travels - time flies. And time
REALLY flies by the older one gets! So we are all time travelers. It's just some get to go to Paris and others do not!!

What a dapper chap! Love the way you grounded him so firmly Anne. Super to see use of the fabric too - a fabulous tag Anne. Have a lovely weekend. Nicola x

this is awesome Anne - such a fabulous tag - love it to bits! So glad to see the Mo's make won the last challenge too - it really is a brilliant make! Have a great weekend! Hugs rachel xx
ReplyDeleteYour tags are always so cleverly done with the way you use TH's supplies. Love the bottom pediment (who'd have thought to do that but you!) and I liked the clogs with the gentleman very much. Your idea of the time traveler is wonderful (I'm thinking Outlander - cause the heroine time travels back to Scotland - think Bonnie Prince Charlie). So I especially loved your tag tonight. Our PBS is starting Dr. Who this wkend, and would you believe I've never seen the program? I've heard about it, but it's never been shown in any areas that we've lived. I'll have to give it a view and see if I like it. I know it's been very popular over the years. Happy wkend and TFS. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteAnne...your tag is fabulous! I love the fabric background. That brings such a neat, new dimension to your piece.
