Tim Tag January 2014

Hi everyone and a big thank you to my new followers and also to those of you who regularly follow, I really do appreciate your kindness and support.  Apologies for not posting much lately and maybe not commenting as often as I usually do,  but I just can't seem to get into the 'groove' at the moment.  I have promised myself that I will use up lots of my stash (or NBUS, never before used stuff) as my lovely friend Darnell calls it!  I have also promised myself to spend more time crafting and a little less time blogging - but it's hard!

Anyway, on to my tag.  For once I had nearly everything that Tim used on his tag (yay, nothing new!) and in an attempt to kick-start my mojo I  followed Tim's technique closely to see if it would inspire me - and it did:

I am not going to take you through a step by step because Tim does it so well and my only differences are the words, the style of a couple of the cogs and the words on the ticket.

The little charm at the top was an absolute nightmare to do.  Tim suggested using a toothpick and he was not wrong!  It took me longer to do that charm than the rest of the tag - but it looks great now!

I used the sentiment on the ticket, just because I love it.  I went a bit over the top with my splatting black paint as it even shows up on the ticket and I am not sure I was meant to.....but I like it.

Doing Tim's tag has helped with the mojo issue, as well as spending a wonderful day crafting with my lovely friend Mo, who always inspires me.  I have even made a tag holder today that looks a bit like a piece of home decor, so I may show that next week, because I am really pleased with it.

In the meantime, thanks so much for looking and I hope your weekend is going well.  See you soon!  Hugs, Anne xx

  13. A fabulous Tim tag, you have created it perfectly and I am so glad it has helped the motivation factor. I can see we all say and feel the same about keeping up with things Anne, but creating and blogging is something we do for pleasure and we could spend 24/7 at it and even then not keep up, so please don't worry about it. I am looking forward to seeing your tag holder.
    Happy Sunday.

  14. Mojo's are funny things Anne, we think they have deserted us and gone walkies then something inspires us and off we go full steam ahead.

You have hit the ground running with this tag and at the end of the day it doesn't matter where your inspiration comes from it is all your own work and this is simply gorgeous.

    Warm crafty hugs from Shirl.

  17. HI Anne, oh your take on Tim's tag is fabulous...and your little charm does look great, well worth all the effort, I noticed it immediately! I'm determined to get back into the challenge this month, having dipped out from about September last year! My mojo has come and gone at regular intervals since my back problem last summer, which was followed by the long holiday..then once I got into Christmas makes Mr Mojo was throwing ideas at me left right and centre and now? Well I'm finding it hard to snap out of Christmas mode! You'll be fine, he's just teasing you! Lots of hugs, Carole Z XXX

  24. Everything you make is worth waiting for Anne - I really like this tag, especially the embossing on the watch face. I think its the cold, wet weather that is affecting us all - I can't wait for Spring to arrive and revitalise everything. Love, Margie xx

All of your promises sound like me. Be kind to yourself - you had a pretty traumatic injury.

  27. It's a great take on the tag - and I so agree about TH's ability to stir the Mojo... Glad to hear you had a good day crafting with Mo - looking forward to the tag holder! Good luck with the "more crafting, less blogging" - it's a tricky balance, isn't it?

  28. Hello Miss Anne, well I think it's a PERFECT take on Tim's tag and i looooooove all the black splatters and that charm was worth the trouble, I'm sure I'd have the same trouble with it. 31. Hi Anne x love your take on Tim's tag and so glad your mojo has kick started with Tim and Mo's inspiration. Think it's that time of year when we all feel a bit blue and need some dry and sunny days.

    Huge hugs Annie x

  32. This is a great tag...it gives a feeling of strength and security! Perhaps it is because my Dad and my Grandpa both had watches like that
You have done a wonderful job on the tag and my head spins thinking of the work to make that teeny charm...it is fabulous.

Hands a little better today. Living with arthritis, you tend to recognize a flare and so I just slow down for a few days and use ice a bit in the evenings.Of course it is all self imposed as I like to clean my house from top to bottom to start the year.
DH does all the vacuuming and dusting and changes the beds over...but still I like to go through each drawer and purge and organize. It seems that fine work of wrapping each item to place in the thrift shop box sets off my wrists and thumbs. I had it after decorating and undecorating the tree and had just got it settled down...so you think I
would learn! Oh well...house is half finished and will give a go again in a few days.

That turquise did scare me as it looks much further away in tones from the blue and aqua on the card (IRL). It seems neon to this mitchy matchy girl! teeehee

  33. Anne...YOU are one of the sweetest people I know! I wanted to THANK YOU so much for the very kind comment you left on my blog as I am leaving Simon Says Stamp's design team. I had such fun there but it's just time...you know? You always make me feel so good with your words of wisdom and your sweet comments. I am excited to see what lies ahead both as we (fingers crossed) get our bid back from our builder and hopefully we will be able to start building our house. And...I am so excited to just mindlessly PLAY in my craft room and experiment with art journaling and other mediums that I've either been too scared to just DO IT or been too busy with other commitments to have the time to quietly sit and just let the ideas flow. I wish for you a wonderfully creative 2014. From the looks of your Tim tag, you're well on your way! It's incredible! Much love, <3 Candy

  35. Fabulous Anne! I thought this was Tim's tag when I saw it, great work, looking forward to seeing your tag holder, it is a dilemma sometimes with blogging or crafting, crafting or blogging! I know just what you mean ! A few more hours in the day wouldn't go amiss xx

  36. Another awesome tag Anne. You must have patience in abundance to do all those fiddly bits. Have a great week, with lots more crafting :o) x

  37. Loving that texture on the clockface. You want to reach out & rub over it just to feel the surface. So very vintage & so Tim. I had to smile reading your comment that you had 'nearly all' the supplies. I know you are all Tim Holtz and if anybody would have his supplies, our Anne would. But you know, I love to see when you adapt to your own supplies too, because you do it so well. Even when your MoJo is resting, your projects always take a life of their own and are beautiful. Well done, and I'm happy to see you crafting more frequently now. Take care, and TFS. Hugs

  43. Fantastic tag Anne and so nice that you had most of the items too. Love the little charm and it made me laugh that it took you the longest time to make, is it it always the way?! Much like you I've been struggling to get going properly this year soi do understand how it is, looks like you've made a grand start to the year though with your gorgeous projects so far. Chris xxx
