Sunday Stampers - Week 217 - Patterns

Hello Fellow Bloggers

The theme for Sunday Stampers this week at http://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk which is run by the very talented Hels Sheridan is Patterns.  If you want to join in the challenge then please have a look at Hels' blog, she does the most amazing creations.

With the Olympics in full swing and me feeling a bit under the weather I did something very simple this week, using patterned paper and my favourite creatures of all time - butterflies, no suprises there then!  I added a Tim Holtz quote stamp and this is the result:

The butterflies were cut with a Martha Stewart punch, from the same patterned paper and I just alternated the butterflies on the patterned background.  I added some pearls to the bodies of the butterflies, matted onto navy card and then onto an 8" x 8" white card base.

If you do visit I hope you will leave me a comment, I love to read them and I will always try to return the compliments.  Hope you are all still enjoying the Olympics!  Go Great Britain!  Crafty hugs, Anne xx

  3. This is such a classic card layout, Annie. I remember using this layout on one of the very first cards I ever made. Sooo much simpler than what you have done here, however! I adore that you punched the Butter Flies out of patterned paper, which added a ton of texture to your card. Well done!!

I love your piece here. Really clever take on the theme and those butterflies are gorgeous!! I can't remember the last time I used a paper and I really should invest if this is what you can do with them - I have one pad of TH papers and that's it and they've never been used yet!
    Take care. Juliaxx

  17. Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope you feel better very soon. This is a very pretty card as usual. Always love butterflies & love the sentiment placed in the bottom right hand side. Take it easy & think how you will spend that Timmy voucher (if you got the same as me). Never ordered from America before - not quite sure how it will work but hey ho! Enjoy the rest of the Olympics. Sx

  21. Hi Anne, Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I do hope you are feeling better? I must say I love what you are doing with those little butterflies on the colour chart (earlier post). Not much Olympics viewing happening here. As we've just come back from the snow, the winter olympics would be more appropriate. (That's where my limited sporting interests lie! As you may have already guessed.)

  23. Oh Anne I love your butterflies! (No surprise there!) - you can NEVER have enough butterflies! That is soooo pretty. Love the alternating patterned background papers.

Hope you are feeling yourself again soon. At least you can rest and relax and watch the Olympics. All so exciting, isn't it.

My room may look busy (and it is) but it's just a tip really! I am really hankering after a properly organised ARTHaven now... Hopefully by the time we come to move in a couple of years' time I'll have got rid of all the dross.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

  24. Oh my! I love, love, LOVE!!!!! This card. I love grid cards with various patterns anyway and the addition of the butterflies with the same paper is a great touch. I am going to have to copy this idea at some point. Simply awesome!
