Hello Friends
Well, another week has passed us by. Those of us who are being 'shielded' have been told we can now go out after 12 weeks in lock down, but I have to be honest, I don't feel quite ready yet so am giving it another couple of weeks to be sure... keeping myself busy with lots of crafting! I hope you are keeping safe and well.
My Guest designer project this week, for AALL & Create, is a mixed media board, using two newly released stamps by Bipasha BK and a stamp set by Autour de Mwa.
I started with an 8 inch circle of mixed media paper and created my background with lots of Distress Spray Stains (Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw and a little Picked Raspberry).
I stamped Bipasha's Magnify It (#319) stamp set onto the circle in black Archival ink.
Next, I cut a circle from the background, using a Sizzix dome as my guide for size. I attached the circle onto a canvas board, added flowers from Bipasha's Blooming Beauty (#324) stamp set which I had already stamped and fussy cut.
I placed the dome on top of the circle/flowers and glued them all into place. I stamped and fussy cut all of the flowers again from the Magnify It set. I also stamped the magnifying glass from the same stamp set, fussy cut it, embossed it with clear embossing powder and placed it to one side.
To finish off the base I stamped Autour de Mwa's Intersecting Circles (#364) to the bottom of the circle using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.
I added the base over the dome, onto the canvas board and then added the fussy cut flowers from Bipasha's Magnify It stamp set along with the embossed magnifying glass. The dome doesn't actually magnify the flowers underneath but I like the illusion it creates.
To finish off I stamped the sentiment again (from Magnify It) and raised it up so that I could attach a mini magnifying glass charm.

Oh my goodness!!!! This is amazing Anne. What a brilliant creation. I love the background .. the colour, and the texture from the stamp, is awesome. I also really love that you left the flowers in black & white, they stand out so beautifully. The whole design is just magnificent. So creative .. Love, love, love it!!! xx

ReplyDeleteOoh love the rich colours of the background with the fabulous added stamping. The black and white main image flowers really pop and the dome for the magnifying glass is perfect along with the final touch of the little charm - a stunning piece of art! We are staying in too, just not risking going out at all especially following the influx of visitors to Bournemouth! Hugs xxxxx

Oh Anne you've brought the sunshine out again with this fiery piece, those cut flower look so fresh left to display the stunning line work of the stamped images against that rich red and orange background. You say the dome doesn't actually magnify but it expands our imagination to fool us into believing it really does. An exquisite creation Anne and how smart you are to have added that little magnifying glass embellishment, it's all so lovely.

Another gorgeous wall board creation, Annie! I am swooning over the magnificent sunset color you achieved and I love how you arranged the flowers inside and around the dome, punctuating it with that sweet tiny magnifying glass! (I'm sure it's just me but a couple of your photos remind me of a stunning large hat for a Southern belle; I'd wear one like it!) ReplyDeleteThis is absoloutely stuning Anne! I love that you've not coloured the flowers, I would never have thought to leave them uncoloured, but they are just perfect. I don't blame you for not going out just yet, we've found ourselves staying home more and more during the lockdown even though we ar 'allowed' out. Take care and have a great week, Sue xx
ReplyDeleteOh, that's clever - love how it focuses the eye onto those wonderful delicate florals. They're so effective in b&w against the vibrant colours of the background. The teeny magnifying glass is delightful.
