Hello Friends
I have created a mixed media project for AALL & Create this week, using a couple of Tracy Evans' recently released stamp sets along with the Tiny Houses die by Tim Holtz for Sizzix and his Brickwork 3D Embossing Folder.
I have condensed the photos, so as not to make the post too long.
First I cut the tiny houses from thick black card and then embossed each piece with Tim's 3D embossing folder, before dry brushing each of the pieces, first with white gesso and then Quinacridone acrylic paint. Before putting the houses together I randomly stamped with Tracy's Mesh stamp (No. 262).
Next, I stamped Tracy's Passion Flower stamp set (No. 278) onto Tim Holtz tissue wrap. I coloured the flowers on the reverse side with acrylic paint and then ripped the tissue close to the flowers before applying these to the tiny houses with matt medium.
I added the roof to each of the tiny houses and added a further strip around the bottom of each house.
To finish off I added some hessian string along with some words to the front and back of each house.
You can find a list of worldwide stockists for the stamps I used HERE. We do encourage you, wherever possible, to purchase from your local stockists, particularly during these difficult times.
I do hope you are all staying safe and well and continue to do so. As always, thank you so much for your visit, it is appreciated.
Hugs, Anne xxx
What stunning houses Anne, firstly I love the idea of the Passion flower climbing the wall and your brick wall is so authentic too. Fantastic idea, beautifully executed, I adore these . Thanks so much for all your hard work ๐๐๐

ReplyDeleteLove your little houses with the brick wall embossing. A row of them on a mantelpiece would look really great. Glad you're still well and crafting to pass the time. Elaine xx
ReplyDeleteThese are just fabulous, Annie! I'll bet they are darling in person. No one does texture and detail as well as you! I love the walls and the roof so much! And the tissue flower, string, and words finish them perfectly. (You are brave to tear the tissue AFTER you color the flower!) I hope you two are taking care and keeping safe!! Love and hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThe passion flower looks so lovely climbing up that tremendously embossed wall, must get my hands on that embossing folder soon. All so beautifully executed Anne each time I see these sweet houses I quest why I hardly ever use my dies.. Always a treat to stop by Anne and I see another I have missed, shame on me.. backwards I pop.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a super creative Sunday, take care Tracey xx
Ooh I adore these tiny houses with the gorgeous passion flowers on the glorious walls! You are soooooo clever my friend! Hugs. Stay safe! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI caught a glimpse of these in passing the other day, and meant to pop back to comment, but somehow I get distracted very easily these days. I just adore the scrumptious brick texture, weathered to perfection with paint and stamping, and the delicate flower stems look so good against it. Love the corrugated roof and trim too - they are delightful tiny houses.

These tiny houses are so lovely and so cute Anne. The brick texture is fabulous and I simply adore the delicate flowers. They look amazing! Just love all the details. hugs x
ReplyDeleteThese are just so cool, Anne! I love the Tiny House die and you have inspired me to get mine out and try out my new brick 3D folder. The delicate flower stems are the perfect foil to the rugged brick and I love the detail of the corrugate roof/trim and string bows. You are an amazing artist, and I'm so grateful for the inspiration. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou're definitely on a roll with the Aall and Create stamps - these are so pretty. That's one of the flowers I've used the least, yet you've made it look fab.
