Hello Friends
I am not really enjoying the heat here at the moment but it is wonderful to see all the beautiful flowers in our garden, they inspired me to create a mixed media board featuring AALL & Create stamp set #149 by Tracy Evans and stencil #51 by Autour de Mwa
I started gessoing a media board measuring 6" x 8.1/2".
I stamped Tracy's Checkered Nature stamp in the middle and added a little random stamping to each side. I drew in two further flower stems using a black marker pen. I also stamped several more flowers and fussy cut them.
I applied a wash of watercolour ink over the board, in blue and green, let it dry and then applied texture paste through the Batik stencil.
I used watercolours again to colour the front and back of the flowers.
After layering up the flowers (two on each), I added some Glossy Accents to the flower centres. Finally I used gesso to apply some splatters in white and black.
You can find a list of worldwide stockists for the stamp and stencil I used HERE.
Thanks so much for your visit, I really appreciate it!
Hugs, Anne xx

This is gorgeous Anne .... those flowers are so cheery looking, and I love the texture. It's cooling off a little here now, I think our summer is over. It was nice while it lasted xx

What an eye catching design, Anne! I love your blended inky background and all the textures created by the stencil work and splatters. And your doodling and those bold dimensional flowers are the icing on the cake, my friend! I had a giggle at how sweetly you expressed your dislike for the heat; you are much kinder than I am! And so wonderful the heat has brought out your flowers! Sadly, it has pretty much killed mine! Even the heat loving varieties are showing signs of wear. I welcome cooler temps with open arms! Sending big hugs!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Gorgeous MM panel, Anne . Your lovley flowers look so wonderful in the summer meadow setting . Fabulous showcasing of Tracys stamps .
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the soaring temperatures we have had over the last week . England just isn't equipped for that level of consistent heat! Hope you enjoying the cooler air today n hope you are doing ok . BIg hugs x
Your blue skies really shine through on this piece Anne I can almost see the inspiration that has drawn you to create this piece. Always love how you restamp and fussy cut those flowers they look so dynamic layered up. That stencil is a new one on me, may NEED to track that one down hee hee!!
ReplyDeleteA stunning result using both stamp and stencil, you'll always remember the heat when you look back on this one.
Hope it's cooled down for you now as it has here? I'm playing catch up with everything after being away for a week.. Don't think i'll ever catch up.
Have a super weekend & take care HUgs Tracey xx
Beautiful vivid colours in your lovely flower garden, Anne. I love that touch of delicate texture from the chevron texture paste, and the double layers of petals add delicious dimension. Fabulous!
