Hello Friends
I am here with another Eileen Hull and DCWV - Winter Wonderland post.
This time I used Eileen Hull for Sizzix Cookie Box (Sizzix 659874) die together with DCWV's beautiful Cranberry Christmas Premium Stack of papers.
The cookie box is so easy to put together, you just simply follow the instructions that come with the die.
To make the Christmas tree I cut various strips of papers in decreasing size and used my Martha Stewart scoreboard to score at either 1/2" intervals (the first two layers) or 1/2" intervals for the other layers. Fold along the score lines and then glue the two ends together. Press down onto a circle of paper and glue - hold for a moment or two. I used PVA wet glue but it would set more quickly with a glue gun. The rounds were stacked up and glued together to form the tree.
I made a matching Christmas with the left-over papers and one of the sentiment sheets from the DCWV paper pack. This is such a great way to make quick and easy cards.
To add some interest I fussy cut another flower and decoupaged this and added it together with a red jingle bell.
I hope you will visit Eileen's blog throughout the month to see the wonderful creations that my teamies have come up with!
Thanks for looking, hope to see you again soon!
Hugs, Anne xx

Love the stacked medallions that formed the tree. What a splendid idea to decorate the cookie box you've made with this delightful tree. As pretty as this is, my heart was taken by the wonderfully designed card. It put me in mind of the Pennsylvania Dutch folk art designs, and this creation is so unique compared to most of the traditional Christmas cards I'm seeing. It's just stunning..and so is the cookie box!!! TFS & Hugs (after seeing the above comment about the jingle bell, went back to check that...missed it while admiring the Dutch art! Clever idea to add some jingles.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Christmas set, Anne! I love your genius idea how to build up a Christmas tree! Your card is super gorgeous and I love that little jingle bell in the center of the flower! So festive and so brilliantly done! Love, love, love this stunning set! Big hugs! Branka xx
ReplyDeleteAnne, this is such a festive Christmas card and gift set! I love the simple yet very beautiful design of the card, and you made it so special with the decoupaged poinsettia and tiny bell. I love how you made your Christmas tree, and as a recovering box-aholic, I can give this project extra points for having the box used as the tree's base. Love your attention to detail! That being said, I hope you don't get too attentive to the details of the gift that's now circling the globe to get to your doorstep. Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, sorry I nearly missed this but it's been one of those weeks as you know. Gorgeous card and box, very festive. Happy crafting, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteYour tree!!!!!!! That is soooooo freakin awesome sauce and genius! Is there anything in the middle for support or does the paper hold up well? So creative! And of course the cookie die is fantabulous and then you go and add the Christmas card! Wowzers! I think the little red bell sets everything off smashingly well. Haha! Jingle all the way. Gorgeous designs! Hugz to you muffin! ~Niki
