June is the month of Father's Day on both sides of the Atlantic. Male cards are always notoriously hard to do so I have made a quickie card, that could be used for almost any occasion.
The Gentleman is from the Tim Holtz Time Travellers stamp set, I stamped him and coloured him with Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen, Spun Sugar and Broken China Distress Ink.
The charm and word band are from Tim's Idea-ology range, as is the clip. I dabbed over the clip with Wendy Vecchi's Sky Blue Archival Ink and then added Sky Blue Embossing Powder and heated it. I love using Embossing Powder in this way, the clip now looks like it has been enamelled. The words on the charm (Wander) and the word band (the journey awakens the soul) have been coloured with Broken China Distress Paint (just generously coat with the paint, leave a moment or two and then wipe off the top surface).
To finished the card I mounted it on to some corrugated card (stained with Vintage Photo Distress Ink) from my stash and then mounted this onto plain black cardstock.
All of the items I used are from Inspiration Emporium, if you do decide to shop there, the postal rates are extremely competitive, both in the US and Europe and you can use my code Redanne to receive a 10% discount off your whole order.
Thanks for looking, I hope to see you again soon. Big hugs, Anne xxx

I always love what you do with this stamp Anne, you are so imaginative in the way that you do. This is a fantastic card. I think that masculine cards are so hard to do without it looking standard run-of-the-mill but you turn out these perfectly original and beautiful cards. You are definitely one of my favourite cardmakers to check out....even though I barely get time to do the blog rounds these days!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant design Anne and a fantabulous card. Love the way the treated clip turned out plus the blue letters in the metal bring it all together fantastically. Super duper work! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Nicola x
ReplyDeleteAn excellent 'male' card Anne. You can do any style beautifully. That sky blue is a luscious colour I think.

ReplyDeleteFabulous masculine card Anne, loving your compass background and you've coloured it so carefully, it looks amazing! This has a CAS feel to it even though there's lots of mixed media techniques, now that is impressive!!

What a wonderful ultra-manly card, Annie! That tip about enamelizing the clip is awesome and it looks awesome with the charm! Another brilliant design, my friend! Gosh, men back then never smiled did they? It was a hard life. I'm glad I lived now. I like it when my man smiles, which he does often. Of course, the women were pretty darn grouchy, too, so I guess it all worked out and they suited each other! The end. Big hugs, Darnell xxoo
ReplyDeleteFantastic masculine card Anne! Love the embossed inky background! So creative and artsy!
