Hello Everyone
A quick post from me, if you don't like Zombies then look away now!
When Tim brought out his three new monster dies, there was only one for me - the Zombie. During my blog break last month I took the opportunity to make some Halloween cards for friends and family (well, the ones who appreciate the darker side of Halloween anyway - lol),
I was thrilled when Tim's October tag featured the Zombie die, but I haven't got round to creating mine yet, but thought I would share a couple of cards.
I decided to stick to black and white. I cut some of the elements in white and some in black, the die pieces are small but they are scored and incredibly easy to put together. The card is bound together with Regions Beyond Design Tape.
I also used Tim's cabinet card dies and the new cobweb embossing folder. Once embossed I highlighted the embossing with a white pigment ink.
The second card is very similar, just a different background and I used Tim's Idea-ology spider charms. The bodies have been covered with Distress Glitter, an idea I picked up from a project that Zoe Hillman (igirlzoe) did here, A simple but effective way to give the spiders a lovely 'glow'. I hate spiders in real life though ...
I hope I haven't frightened you too much with my spooky makes... DH had to stop me from buying a life sized plastic skeleton at the weekend.... yes, really...
Thanks for looking, hope to see you soon
Hugs, Anne xx
Aw wow! Anne your Zombie cards are fantastic . Love the cabinet card design and the cobweb embossing . Your Zombies are awesome in black and white especially against the red . Can't wait to see your take on Tims tag now .hugs x

Thanks for your comment on my post; the houses in that wee village are almost all different, no pesky councils insisting on sameness. I'll snap some more, next time we go {{Hugs}} xx

And, really, a life-size skeleton?! Maybe David SHOULD have let you order one, you know what I mean, David? If you don't let her get a plastic one .....!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

ReplyDeleteLove the darker side of Halloween and your black/white card combo sets everything off nicely. Cool way to highlight the spiderweb EF and love the red poking through on the awesome zombie! Awesome sauce design and details! ~Niki

I adore how you used the spider web embossing folder (funnily enough I don't mind real spiders at all...). Highlighted with the white ink, they look just amazing!! Some lucky people are going to be very happy with these cards!!

ReplyDeleteAnne, this is my most favorite of seeing this die used! I think I really love the skeleton/Bones look on the black webbed background! This truly rocks and I know your friends will love their cards! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards Anne - I have this monster die too -- cute as he can be, not as handsome as Mr. Poe but cute all the same. I do believe I like the second card the best.
ReplyDeleteNeed a date for Halloween - Call 1800-MONSTER

Wow.. this is such a beautiful and awesome creation, Anne. Love the cool zombie! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am not keen on zombies but your card did make me smile. Your cards are great and I love that spiders web embossing folder. I'd sneak that skeleton into a spare room when DH isn't looking!! Elaine
ReplyDeleteWOW! These are spookily fabulous ....... I love the sparkly spiders. You definitely are the Queen of Halloween! hugs Linda xx
ReplyDeleteLoved this one, even though I don't much like the 'grim look' of zombies, skulls, etc. (Now my DH would really go for this one! Halloween is his favorite holiday he says). Love the way you've used the elements to create this Spook-tac-u-lor creature. The EF did a terrific embossing on the inside of the cabinet, and I liked the touch of blazing orange under the b&w spookie. Of course those creepy spiders look much too real! As always, another wonderful 3D project from you. TFS & hugs
ReplyDeleteOh my Anne! So spooktacular! The zombie looks fantastic! Love the embossed spider web! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAnne!!!!!!!!!!! You've done again! masterpiece! love this black and White zombie! It's totally wonderful!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Anne, love your zombie cards, the colours are perfect! The white highlight on the embossed spider web is so effective, great background. And why did your hubby stop you from buying the life sized skeleton? Doesn't he know that every girl needs at least one?! Thanks for sharing your great cards, love them ☺
