Hello Woywwers and Fellow Bloggers
Apologies for not joining in last week, but as some of you already know the Builders start some fairly major work on our house tomorrow and the garage and the conservatory needed emptying. Yikes, has anyone tried to actually empty their garage before? I don't think I need to say any more........
If you are just passing through and wondering what WOYWW is, then please go and visit our wonderful leader, Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk for all the details - but beware, it can be addictive!
I have had very little time for crafting as you will note from my lack of blog posts, so there is nothing but piles of paper etc all over my desk. I did however, finish my little quilt for Lillybo, an amazing project which is being handled and run by fellow WOYWWer, the lovely Jo of Jozart, so I thought I could show you that this week. The photos are taken in my craft room Julia so I hope this qualifies!
This is my first ever quilt, it is cot sized. I have not had my big machine out for about 25 years so I was quite pleased with the end result. I backed it with some very fleecy fabric to make it warm and cosy for the little girl that will receive it. Jo asked us to make bags for our quilts too so that when the quilt is put inside it will act as a pillow, so here is a better picture of the bag.
Well, Julia likes us to keep these short so that's all from me folks. I will visit as many of you as time allows today. If you do visit I hope you will leave me a comment and if anyone can sew and you want to help Jo by making a child's quilt then please follow Jo's link above. Happy WOYWW. Hugs, Anne xx

Oh dear, I do have some idea what that level of clearing means. A couple of years ago, we had to clear the two houses belonging to our two mothers. Although we got rid of most of it then, our own garage and loft still got filled up. Then we had to clear the loft to allow the new insulation to be put in, and clear the pantry to have it converted to a downstairs toilet. More stuff to go to the tip. We still have to beat the stuff in our garage. The very best of luck with your clearing out, and thank you for your visit. xx Maggie #20
ReplyDeleteWell your quilt was very well appreciated today when I took them to the hospital... watch out for my handover post soon.
ReplyDeleteAre you now going to make one for your own bed, whilst you are on a roll? It would be so lovely if people carried it on and did them for family members etc.
Yikes! I hope you managed to find places to put all the stuff from your garage! Don't think I could manage and I'd probably need to rent a storage unit!
Thanks for popping over to mine,
Lots of love Jo x
Oh my, it was like an act of congress for me to clean off the top of my desk and put everything away, I tremble at the thought of clearing out a garage! yuck! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog, waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

That's a great quilt!! Have you ever made the kind that folds into its own pillow? I think it's call a quillow... I made one for my dad MANY years ago. It wasn't difficult at all. And best wishes for all the work on your house. Hope it goes quickly! Happy WOYWW!

Hi Anne, I was doing the WOYWW, and don't know how I missed you...but then surfed over to your link when I saw your comment come into email. My other love - prior to stamping - was quilting (Well, actually collecting fabric...much as I do stamp paraphernalia). You did an outstanding job on this crib quilt, and the perfectly lovely bag to hold it. Some little one is going to be so cozy under your gift, and it is so lovely & vintage-y looking. Good luck with your garage cleanout. I wouldn't even want to 'think' of that task! Hugs & TFS.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt.
ReplyDeleteHope you get a chance to check out my blog and desk.
Have a great day.

ReplyDeleteThis quilt looks lovely and cosy Anne, I love the colours and the bag pillow idea too. Sadly I'm not a stitcher, put off by mending, hemming and sewing on loose buttons, etc over the years for my family, so never developed a love for sewing & think of it now as hard work. I do however marvel at those who do, and have a lot of admiration at those who can, now I know you're in those groups too. Best wishes for your building work tomorrow. Alexandra x
ReplyDeleteAnne that is SUCH a sweet little quilty and bag, perfect for the LillyBo project!!!
