Vintage Typewriter

Hello Friends

I hope you are all well, we are into our 19th week of lockdown here, strangely enough it just feels like the norm now and I am not anxious to go out anytime soon!

My Guest designer project this week for AALL & Create has a vintage vibe to it.
I used two of Bipasha's beautiful stamp sets - Time Out #325, Janet Klein's Background Noise #338 together with the Abundance Stencil #85 by Olga Heldwein.

I started by creating the background using Distress Oxide inks and the wrinkle free technique.  I covered the stencil with Seedless Preserves, spritzed it and applied it to the background.  This left a lovely delicate pattern.
I stamped the typewriter image onto white card and used an edging die to create the torn page look.
I stamped and fussy cut the typewriter again and also stamped the wording from stamp set #338, to use in the typewriter.
I gave the page and the note for the typewriter a vintage look with Distress Ink in Gathered Twigs.
I layered up the typewriter, added it to the page and then some corrugated card and fixed it to the background.  To finish off the card, I added the sentiment from my stash.

Worldwide stockists for the stamps and stencil I used are listed on the AALL & Create website HERE.

As always, thanks so much for your visit, I hope to see you again next week.

Hugs, Anne xxx

  5. Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! Love your art once again and it was a great idea to stamp the wording twice and add it to the typewriter - very realistic. I have to admit I have been out a bit more but other than the supermarket, nowhere busy and that'll be the way we live from now on!! Elaine xx

  6. This is absolutely stunning Anne, I love how your aged the paper and layered up the typewriter, it looks SO effective. I go out less now than I did when lockdown started, unfortunately my (no existant) waistline is paying the price lol. Take care, Sue xx

  7. Oh, bother, I typed a whole comment and then your page reloaded on me and I lost it all. Some graphic must be very large. I do really love this, Annie! As an old secretary, I'm familiar with this old typewriter and I think they are brilliant looking. I have only play-typed on them, but I was left with enormous respect for women who DID type on them and I wonder how many fingernails, if not fingers, were broken using them! You have given yours so much personality by making and adding that slip of text to look like an old letter! And, of course, your blending and design elements are unequal in my book! Keep on staying in and staying safe, my friend. Funnily, we are getting along very well. I think it might be from a renewed appreciation that we aren't alone dealing with Covid, you know? We miss our friends, but we're glad we have each other. Lots of love and hugs, Darnell

  10. Stunning card Anne! Such a gorgeous background and I adore the typewriter stamp. Your layering makes it stand out beautifully. The corrugated board gives your card so much dimension and interest .. love it all. So glad you are doing okay and are happy staying in. We are able to go out whenever we like but I prefer being at home more now. It's comfy, especially in our cold weather, and I got quite used to it. Take care and stay well. hugs xx

  11. This is a beauty Anne, love it's vintage vibe and the typewriter stamp is incredible especially layered in this way. How I'd love a real one. The edger die gives a fantastic effect to the page, I know I have one of these somewhere in my stash but where only the crafting gremlins know. With your stencilled background all distress, it grounds everything so beautifully. Another one that should be framed and on display.
Thanks so much for sharing Anne, stay safe BIG Hugs Tracey xx
