Tim Tag - March 2016

Hello Friends

I am back to share my Tim Tag, I hope that you all had a
wonderful Easter weekend, ours was quite quiet but we enjoyed a little time in the
garden before the weather turned....

I ended up doing two tags, just because I enjoyed the techniques so much!  I pretty
much followed Tim's tutorial which you can see HERE.

The tag and corrugated layer were die cut.
After applying the two Remix Techniques, the die cut tag was coloured with Tim's Distress Crayons.
Foil was added here and there.

To finish off, one of the new word bands was added and coloured with the Distress Crayon, it is so much easier with the crayons than paint, in my humble opinion.
I wasn't totally happy with the look of the Distress Crayons on my tag and I was reading a post by Paula Cheney, here, where she used a wet wipe (not a really wet one) so I tried it and it worked  a lot better for me, you can see the result in my second tag.
I think the colours look a little brighter with the wet wipe technique and the crayons blended much more easily.
Again, the wording is coloured with Distress Crayons.
Finally, here they are side by side.

Thanks so much for looking, I hope to see you again soon.

Hugs, Anne xx

  7. Gorgeous work Anne! Both tags are beautiful in their own way. The little detail that I especially love is the ribbon you threaded through the metal sentiment plate.

  8. Beautiful tags, Anne. The plain manilla tag looks so beautiful all on its own after you die cut it. Yum! That's interesting about the baby wipe technique - I'll have to remember that. Thanks for sharing!

  9. Both are beautiful Anne - and look especially terrific in the last shot. I do prefer the look you've achieved on the 2nd with the wet wipe. Love the new word bands. Nicola x

  10. Two beautiful tags Anne. I use wet wipes on the crayons - a technique I learnt when using Gellatos. You can also use the wet wipe through a stencil to take some of the colour away to create a design.

  13. Lovely! Love the cut-out from the corrugated darkness, adding in the sparkling butterfly. I just got some of these crayons, but not used as yet, so will appreciate that tip you passed along. While both are so pretty, I do think I like your 2nd one best, as the colors of the butterfly seem more vibrant & intense. But they are both just so very pretty. TFS & for sharing the link too. Hugs

I'm glad to know about the baby wipes as I was not totally in love with hoe the distress crayons blended out. I'll give that a try! Your butterflies are stunning against the darker backgrounds.

  25. Seeing them side-by-side is really exquisite, Annie! I can't help thinking how brilliant they would look side-by-side like that in a shadow box! I agree with you about the wet wipe approach on those crayons colors and it's cool how you could color the metal sediment tag with the crayons! Once again, you did Tim proud!! I hope you get some more sunny days soon! Love, Darnell xxoo
