Daisy Journal

Hello Friends

For my AALL & Create Guest designer project this week I have created a small journal using Tracy Evans's newly released and gorgeous Daisy Elegance stamp set and the large Totally Dotty stencil by Autour de Mwa.
Here it is opened up (top)showing the gorgeous daisy and the stencilling...
I started by cutting out the journal, using Eileen Hull's Bigx XL Notebook  die, by Sizzix.
Using my brayer and Paper Artsy acrylic paints I brayered several colours over the die cut journal.
I continued the brayering on the inside and also added some Distress ink stencilling with the Totally Dotty stencil.  I used the stencil on the cover of the journal too, stencilling in embossing ink and using Tim Holtz's new Embossing Glaze (see pic 1).
I stamped the flower from Tracy's Daisy Elegance set onto Tim Holtz tissue paper and then painted onto the back of the image with acrylic paint.  I carefully ripped around the edges of the Daisy and applied this to the front of my journal using Matte Medium.  Tearing the tissue and using Matte Medium help to embed the flower into the journal and also gives a nice matt finish.
I created two signatures for the inside of the journal, using left over brayered and stencilled pieces of card and I over-stamped onto these using two more of Tracy's stamps - Going Postal and Mesh.
To finish off I added some blue eyelets, blue elastic stringing for the signatures and some dyed blue ribbon  as a closure.

The stamps and stencil that I used are all available from AALL & Create HERE, where you will also find a list of worldwide stockists.  Please do try and support your local stockists, especially in these difficult times....

Thanks so much for your visit, I appreciate that things are difficult worldwide at the moment and I hope my cheery daisy has brightened your day a little.  Stay safe and keep well.

Hugs, Anne xx

  7. Your cheery daisy has certainly brightened my day, Annie! And, wow, what a good "tear-er" you are! You did a marvelous job painting and tearing and embedding that daisy. And I'm equally impressed by the size of that stencil and how you did such a great job using it to add texture and interest! Baby journals are definitely your creative forte! Of course, so are large journals, tags, wall hangings ...! Mwah! Take care and be safe, both of you!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
