Elegant Peacock by Tracy Evans

Hello Friends

My project this week for AALL & Create uses a stunning stamp designed by Tracy Evans #163 - Elegant Peacock, along with a stencil by Autour de Mwa #45 - Digital Bubbles.
I decided I wanted a clock on either side of the Peacock.
I started by stamping several times on white card.  The design matches easily.  I coloured the background and the clock faces with watercolour pencils and cut out the design to include the two clock faces.
I created the background by covering card with Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers.  After placing the Digital Bubbles stencil on top I applied Twisted Citron Distress Oxide.  I spritzed a little water over the top and left it to dry naturally.
Whilst clearing out parts of my craft room I found some very ancient (well at least 6 years old) Twinkling H2Os (sparkling watercolour paints in tiny pots that you spritz with water to bring them to life).  I painted the Peacock with the H2Os, they have a lovely sheen but the camera did not pick that up very well, the colours look pretty in real life.
A final view of the finished card.

The stamp and stencil I used can be purchased HERE where you will find a list of worldwide stockists, or you can purchase from AALL & Create direct.

Thanks so much for your visit, I hope to see you again soon.

Hugs, Anne xx

  9. What a clever design that the stamp matches up in this way, it makes it so much more versatile, now it's use give's endless possibilities. The peacock looks magnificent, perfect in colour and matches the background so beautifully. Stop tempting me... It was very hard not to walk away with a set or two last week at the NEC but I knew I could not have chosen just one or two..
Have for a fab weekend & Take care of yourself. I'm hoping to play catch up with everything and everything & find time for a cuppa & craft in between.
    Hugs Tracey xx

  12. What a glorious peacock that is, Annie! I have some ancient H20s, too, and never remember to paint with them. I think they were a perfect choice here and can just image the shimmer in real life! He looks very royal with the vintage text, clock faces, and colorful bumpy background!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

  13. Anne, you have created a breath taking card! I love that oxide background; it's perfect to show off these gorgeous stamped images. I love the coloring of the clocks and magnificent peacock--love the Twinkling H2O's. So happy you broke out 'something old'. I think we tend to overemphasize all the new stuff, and really wonderful products get shoved to the back. Sending hugs!
