Pretty in Pink?

Hello Everyone!

Pretty and pink are not words you will find here very often....
I look at some of my blog friends creations and think to myself - I could never do that!
But, I love trying out new things and so, have tried to create something pretty in pink....

I started out with some beautiful Maja Design papers, distressing the edges and adding some faux stitching and a few tears here and there.
I added some stencilling using a Tim Holtz stencil and DecoArt Crackle Paste coloured with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink Re-Inker.
Some stamping was added using Spun Sugar Distress Ink and a stamp from the Tim Holtz Papillon set.  It is faint but I wanted it to be very pale.
To finish off I added the birdcage and the word dream - both elements are from Scrapiniec, the cage, bird and word were coloured with Distress Paint and then I added DecoArt Crackle Glaze to the word 'dream'.  The ribbon and pre-made flower are from my stash.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Thanks, as always, for looking.  I hope to see you again soon.

Hugs, Anne xx

  24. Oh, Annie, you know there is nothing creative and artistic that you can't do! You even take a card and elevate it to the realm of a gallery work of art that should be framed in a shadow box behind glass! This is stunning!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

  25. It's just as gorgeous as anything else you put your hand to! Don't usually see frilly or pink on your work, but this just proves you _can do_ because the layers, the ribbons, the stenciling, the distressing...all using pink shades...turned out beautifully. Very feminine, and I hope you have a sweet lady/girl who can appreciate all your skill! (I've tried the wax paper with dies too...usually after I have to say some bad words because of not using on the first try. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. The metal plate has worked better for me with the doilies than anything else I've tried! ) TFS, Hugs & happy wkend.

BTW-can you come by my house and show what in the world I am doing wrong on my bobbin? It won't stitch and just jumbles the thread up. Anywhoo-this design is beautiful and splendid! Fantabulous cracks on the chippie and the background. That faint stamp idea is genius and looks stunning. Bravo dearie! Hugz to you muffin! ~Niki
