I Love My Mobile Phone

Hello Lovely Blog Friends

I love my mobile phone - well truth be known I don't love my mobile phone at all, it does have it's uses but I could live without it most days.  BUT I found some brilliant stamps in the sales and one of them relates to a mobile phone and I thought it was so funny that I wanted to use it straight away!

Hel Sheridan who runs Sunday Stampers each week (yes, THE Hels Sheridan who is off to the CHA in a day or so!!) has chosen 'Things that Fly' this week for her Sunday Stampers challenge Week 239.  I could not resist using my new stamps.

This week at Anything But A Card the theme for the challenge is 'Things with Wings' and I hope this qualifies me to enter that challenge too.  I was lucky enough to win in their last challenge and I was so thrilled that here I am back again.

To get a better view, click on the picture.

The stamps are from Chocolate Baroque.  I made the background using Faber-Castell Soft Pastels and also Pan Pastels, overstamped with a bubble wrap stamp by Creative Expressions.  I sealed the whole tag with Ranger Glue and Seal as the soft pastels are not permanent unless sealed.

I coloured the heart and wings (which also has little cogs on it) and the mobile phone with Tim Holtz Distress Markers and Distress Inks. The vintage silk ribbon is dyed with Peacock Feathers and Dusty Concorde Distress Stains.  The words - mobile and phone are part of the stamp set and the other words are stamped with my bargain typewriter stamp set that I found on that well known on-line auction site.

I hope you see the amusing side of this stamp set, there are plenty other unusual stamps in the set too.  Thank you for visiting and  if you leave me a comment, I really appreciate it and will always do my best to return the compliment.  Hugs, Anne x

  1. Hi Anne this is a real fun tag and I love your take on the challenges. Stunning background and cute stamped images. Like you I could live without my mobile. I usually get the hand me downs as my DH and son like to keep up to date.

Thanks for sharing and good luck in the challenges

    Hugs

  5. How fun, Annie! Your phone is not only mobile, it's air conditioned!! Awesomeness, as ever!!

So nice to see you busy and in good spirits. Another interesting word, now I think about it. Spirits meaning mood, spirits applied to wonderful craft projects, and spirits to drink! It's a wonder anyone ever learns English. Yes, I know, they wouldn't learn it properly if they came by me! xxoo, Darnell

  7. Great tag...I don't love min either but they are necessary at times! DH doesn't like me to go up to the lake with my girlfriends unless I have one with me... that I can understand as so many things could go wrong!

You tag has a theme of handyness or rescue to me...the phone with the hot air balloon above it suggests the phone is your rescue...and at times they sure can be!

I think i have a love/hate relationship with ours and I can see the humour in this tag for sure.

  8. Oooh Anne I do love a bit of humour, the more the better and this is such fun - love it totally.
My mobile phone is what my daughter calls a 'dinosaur' 'cause it's really old - doesn't even have a camera in it either (shock horror) lol.

  14. Thank you for giving me a rather delicious giggle on this anxiety fraught evening. Must say I have a love/hate relationship with my phone :)
Your tag is terrific! The stamps really work together beautifully.
I don't know if it has filtered across to your side of the world but Australia is burning with massive destruction in 3 states including New South Wales. We are in the only part of the state not facing a catastrophic fire declaration but even here it is scary. Currently there are close to 100 bush fires burning up our state with 40 of them out of control. My anxiety this evening is because my only remaining brother is right in the middle of an area that is in the most danger - gone on a holiday walking the creeks and trout fishing! He has not been in contact with his family except for one brief shaky message.
Now this is when we need out mobile ohones to be able to dodge black holes and then our family would not be looking at our phone waiting for it to ring.
There I have written you a novel. Keep that phone close, who knows it could become the next really hip model:)

  17. Love the tag Anne. I have the same set of CB stamps, I think they're fab.
My mobile phone is more trouble than it's worth. It takes me ages to text as the keypad is so small. I have to read everything before I send it otherwise people get some very strange messages. And, if I have it in my handbag and it rings, it takes me that long to find the darn thing they've usually hung up! I have been saying I need a new one, but no-one is listening!
    Enjoy your week. xx

  21. Stunning background Anne! So soft and feminine. Thanks for tip about glue and seal - I spent ages recently stamping a project only to lose it all when I put on an important top coat of sheen. Fabulous stamping and colouring as ever. Nicola x

  22. Love this Anne, especially that gorgeous background. Bless him, my dad isn't sure how to turn their mobile phone on! Mum has a go at using it but I suspect they will never get their heads around texting! You have picked up some fab stamps by the look of it, and even better if they were bargins! We could all do with the extra pennies to pay for Tim's new stamps and paints!!! Hope you are keeping well. Hugs, Jenny x
