WOYWW - Week 180 - Glad to be Back

Hi Everyone

I have been missing for the last couple of weeks, not for pleasure I am sorry to say, but I have missed you all and I am so glad to be back!

My desk this week looks like a complete wreck, I am doing Christmas cards again using my Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprint stamps.  I am also making something special but will blog that on Thursday, as it is not quite finished - it is really different so I hope you will come back and have a look.

So why am I showing my messy desk?  Well if you want to know more then pop over and see Julia, our Hostess with the Mostest at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk for details on how to join in on the fun.

Here is my desk - yikes!

Apart from the stamps you will see a die cut snowflake border (Memory Box), some Distress Inks, some white acrylic paint, some Tim Holtz idea-ology Tissue Wrap (Melange) - still on my desk from my last project.  Also, a Merry Christmas stamp, some Distress stain, a sanding block, some Pinflair glue gel, some pinecones that I made up last night, some rusted jingle bells, glue, corrugated card, pokey tool and some stamped images, ready for colouring.

Well, Julia likes us to keep it short and sweet so I am off now to see what some of you have on your desks today.  If you do visit, I hope you will leave a comment, I love to read them and will always do my best to return the compliment.  Happy WOYWW everyone!   Crafty hugs, Anne x

I made so many cards for the craft show, that I had to take a break and work on other things. Now I need to finish them off or I won't have any to send. Can't wait to see you Cards finished.

  21. Gorgeous things on the desk... the blueprints look just as good on the stamps as they do on projects, and I love that Memory Box die. I am thrilled with my Cargo case, and while I managed with boxes last time I was on the move, this time I had no driver, so everything had to be carryable on the train - not sure how I'd've managed without!

Do hope you're feeling better, and things are settling down on the health front. Had a lovely time with Buttons and she mentioned you'd really been going through it. We miss you when you're not here!!

  32. Love the memorybox dies, so delicate. I have a few and I think I may even have a Christmas one somewhere but as I haven't 'started' Christmas yet I'm not sure where it is.

Will definitely pop back tomorrow for the big reveal.
Thanks for calling in earlier, bit late getting round (again) this week as I have been out with a couple of friends who have birthdays today and tomorrow.

  33. Lots of lovely stuff on your desk this week, Anne. I am sure what you produce with it all will be brilliant. Those pine cones are great, aren't they - I made some last year and couldn't believe how realistic they turned out. I cut them on Sheba, my Cougar cutting machine, so I can make them what size I want. They even sound like the real thing - that lovely rustly noise when you handle them!

Thank you for your lovely comment. My hubby is almost completely back to normal now, thanks - he's still pretty exhausted after it all, which isn't surprising really. It is a horrible bug that is going round. He had a rotten time, and I felt so helpless - I just wanted to do something - anything - to make it all go away and make my poor boy better again!

So glad you like my projects from this week. As for the zentangles taking a lot of patience - they don't really, because you just sit and do them, and the repetitive nature of building up the design "one stroke at a time" as the zentangle site says, has a wonderfully therapeutic effect, and you get into a sort of rhythm with it. When broken down step by step, these designs are actually very simple, and it's amazing how you can build up complex designs and whole art works with very little trouble! It's tremendously fun to do, and I'd recommend it to anybody. You don't actually need to be able to draw to do them, amazingly.

    Happy WOYWW,

  37. Welcome back Anne - hope you are back to 100%. That desk looks very inviting and organised. I spent a good 10 minutes today looking for some gems that I had just used a few seconds previously. After tearing my hair out, I eventually discovered I had been wandering around with them stuck to the woolly sleeve of my cardi! Nicola x

  45. Well, I don't know where the time has gone, but I haven't made a return visit and I do apologize for just about missing the boat here! Thanks for showing the stamps on your grid mat...I wondered how big they were as I was thinking of getting some and now I know. :) Now, according to Sandy's comment I can see what you've made on another post...guess I'll have to go find it, huh? Thanks for visiting me early on in this weeks WOYWW.
