Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Summertime

Hello Lovely Blog Friends,

The Penny Black Challenge (http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/) has now moved to it's new monthly spot and I for one am very happy about that because it gives me more time, rather  than rushing my entry every week.  The challenge for July is Summertime (and the living is easy) and this is my entry:

I used the Penny Black stamp called Lazy Days and coloured him with Promarkers and added some background colour with TH Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint.  The sunburst was embossed on TH coredinations card using the Sun Rays folder by Craft Concepts.  I matted and layered onto TH red cordinations card, added some vintage red ribbon and a sunflower charm and used computer generated words to finish off.  The edges of the card are edged with red chalk ink to give a bit of definition.

If you do stop by I hope you will leave me a comment, I always do my best to return the compliment.

Crafty hugs, Anne xx

  11. Hello Anne, This card is delightful . . . that's how I wish summer was. Mine is mowing, weeding and watering . . . but I love every minute of it.

Thank you for your sweet comments about my journal, and I do want to encourage you to dust yours off and start journaling. I started mine on the hopes that one day when I'm long gone, my daughter and granddaughters would find them and consider them a treasure of their grandma's life. So, along with the artsy stuff I include personal diary pages . . . things to help them know who I am and from what roots they came from. Have a great weekend. Happy journaling, Connie :)

  20. Sorry Anne - just noticed your second comment! Duh. Another lovely one, thank you! I was going to order one of those heat guns today but they were out of stock on the website I was on (lovely free postage lol!) but they will email me when they are in stock again. A must-have, I think! I'm sick of blowing stuff all over my desk and losing it! Shrink plastic is fun, isn't it! I love doing it with distress embossing powder on it - I made some gear wheels that looked as if they'd been at the bottom of the sea for 100 years!!

  26. Anne, Thank you so much for stopping in to visit, and yes this dragonfly was a beauty. It just happened that I had, had my camera out yesterday evening and I left it setting on the kitchen counter. So, when I saw him, I ran in and grabbed the camera. Lucky shot, because as soon as the camera clicked, he flew away. So nice to hear from you, I love comments, Connie :)

  29. Thank you for your lovely comment, Anne, and I'm thrilled that you love your card so much! It's a shame photos don't do these things justice really, isn't it. Still, we do our best!

Someone on the Black Cat cutter forum has just suggested to me that I make some flowers using the faux porcelain effect. That would be very interesting to try! There are so many lovely things to do... I've got to cut some more flower shapes, and want to do some more of my Indian Floral designs that I made in Inkscape, and make up some of those, maybe multi-layered, and with UTEE? The only limiting factor is one's imagination!
