Guilded Kraft Glassine - CC2 Challenge

Hello Fellow bloggers

Thank you very much to all my lovely new Followers, I really appreciate you taking the time to follow me.

Second post today, not like me at all........and there is not a butterfly in sight!

I made a tag yesterday for the Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge, which you can find at  (http://studiol3.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/compendium-of-curiosities-2-challenge-14.html.  I didn't like it so I threw it away but today I decided not to be defeatist and did another one which you can see here:

The challenge is to use Kraft Glassine paper by Tim Holtz and alter it according to the directions on page 39 of the Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2.  Out of respect to Tim I cannot tell you the details of how I made the flower other than to say I used the Tattered Flowers die to cut it out.

The background tag has been covered with Worn Lipstick DI and then I spritzed and flicked to give a mottled background, the edges were aged using Black Soot DI.  The large birdcage is by Kaisercraft and I coloured it with Black Soot DI.  The small cage and bird were metal charms from my stash and I coated them with Adirondack Snow Cap Mixative and then, from a tip I picked up from Wendy Vecchi blog today, I coated them with Glue and Seal to protect them.  I added a small pearl brad to the flower and a piece of vintage ribbon coloured with Fired Brick Distress Stain to the top of the tag..

The challenge closes tomorrow and I know I am entering by the seat of my pants but the prize is a $25 gift certfificate from the amazing Funkie Junkie boutique (if you have not visited here you really should) who can be found at (http://www.zibbet.com/TheFunkieJunkie).

Thanks for looking, I hope you will leave me a comment, I really enjoy reading them all and will always try to return the compliments.  Crafty hugs,  Anne xx

  19. LOVE that flower Anne, and the colour is just perfect. I have been saving the little charms you sent me for my new noticeboard (which WILL) get done soon, but would never have thought of colouring them in this way. Gonna have to copy that idea because it works so well. Good luck with the challenge hun. Hugs Buttons x

  28. It's either the dreaded brainfog or Blogger playing Silly Bloggers again, but I could have sworn I'd commented on this lovely tag!! It's gorgeous, and in your token red! I've not tried Glassine paper yet.

Thanks for your lovely comment, Anne - so glad you like my latest project! As I'm always saying, "Can a girl ever have enough butterflies?"!! Well done getting to the end of the post - it was seriously long I'm afraid.

    Have a great weeekend.

  30. hi Anne,

Oh, I love this tag! I'm crossing my fingers for you -- a gift card would be great!!!!

I'm glad my latest post brought back fun memories for you. I really loved walking around the old cars and taking photos. There were so many people there that I primarily took closeups of grills and steering wheels. I still have a good bit of photos to post some other time.

Thanks for checking in on me. I've been MIA and really missed visiting WOYWW posts last week. This week, though, I'll be around!

    Hugs,
    Kay
