Tim Tag - November 2016

Hello Friends

A quickie post, I am a bit late this month, I have been busy making Christmas cards, but I finally took some time off to create my Tim Tag.

You can see Tim's original HERE.  This is my second attempt, the first one had too many
Remnant Rubs on it so I toned it down for this one...
I loved the look of the white Remnant Rubs against the blue and silver background. I pretty much followed Tim's tutorial, just used fewer colours - Broken China, Evergreen Bough and Tumbled Glass as I wanted a cool wintry feel.
I love this skate stamp, it comes out every year!  I gently shaded it with Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke and Brushed Pewter (for the blades).

I just added some seam binding, dyed with Broken China Distress Stain and an Idea-ology snowflake coloured with Alcohol Ink.  Such a shame that the blue foiling around the edges has not been picked up by the camera though....it looks so pretty!

Thanks for looking, hope to see you again soon - can you believe it is less than
four weeks to Christmas.....

Hugs, Anne xx

  1. Oh I love this Anne. Think you were right to balance the Remnant Rubs with that deep blue background as it contrasts perfectly with the skate and lettering. Beautiful version xx

  11. It's really beautfiul Anne. Especially love that blue/green background, all the white pops, and the subtle inking on skate. I can catch peeks of the blue foil where the light has caught it in parts so can imagine how gorgeous it must look in the hand. Nicola x

  23. It's lovely. Very icy feel with those blues (like the blueprint overstamping behind the nifty skate). I love the pewter metal on the skate blade...I never think to use that. It looks much nicer than using silver WoS would have Like the blues and touches of brown. Looks very rustic with the corrugated paper too. TFS & Hugs. Happy wkend too.

  29. Sorry to be late, but better late than never! Anne, you have taken Tim's techniques and raised them to the highest level of creativity! Your blue background is truly lovely, as is your layered sentiment! Of course, you should use the skate! I cannot even look at a pair of skates without you coming to mind! This is the prettiest version of Tim's Nov. tag! Sending hugs!

  32. Beautiful.
There is a lovely nostalgia to this tag. The white skate reminds me of the skates my Mum wore as a young woman, long before I was a twinkle in her eye (LOL).
Anne, thank you so much for taking the time to comment and to visit That's Crafty. You need to know I appreciate it very much.
