Unfurling Petals

Hello Friends

I had to miss posting for AALL & Create last week, I was just a little under the weather and couldn't bring myself to do any crafting.  All is well now and we are in lock down for the next 12 weeks in our house so, if I can get my mojo back, hopefully I can buck my ideas up and post a little more regularly again... fingers crossed.  I hope you are all managing well with the social distancing etc.

The Guest DT are posting mixed media projects this week.  I used Olga Heldwein's beautiful Unfurling Petals stamp set #273 and I have combined it with Olga's stencil - Twirling Tendrils #86 to create a mixed media board.

I started by creating the background by brayering paint onto the media board.  I stamped and coloured the Unfurling Petals stamp onto white card and coloured it in with the same colour as the background.
I brayed some green paint next and then used the Twirling Tendrils stencil to stencil some white paint over the background.
I gathered a few bits and pieces together to layer up on the top of the board.
To finish off  I added some twine and a co-ordinating button.
A list of stockists selling AALL & Create products can be found HERE.  We are hoping that AALL & Create fans will support their local stockists, especially in these difficult times.

Thanks so much for your visit, as always it is much appreciated.

Take care and stay safe and well.

Hugs, Anne xx

  1. So sorry to hear you were ill last week (I did wonder, given the missing post) - but relieved to know all is well now. Confined to quarters ought to mean lots of crafting time, but it is somehow tricky to make the most of it. I have bursts of creative energy, but then it seems to vanish again... I expect it will sort itself out as time goes on.

This is a gorgeous card - I love the corrugated layer and the warmth of that background panel, but most of all I love how you've let that central image speak for itself - so lovely on the white and beautifully tinted.

    Stay safe. Hugs,
    Alison x

Fab card, love the colours, and using the cardboard is a brill idea, I have saved some from going in the recycling this week; I have the tools, less of the getting up late and more of get up and go, and thank you dear Anne for the inspiration.Stay safe Axxx

  8. Anne i'm so sorry to hear you have been unwell and sorry again that I missed seeing this post earlier in the week. Now take all the rest of those weeks to take extra care of yourselves and create to your hearts content all other things will just have to wait. What a stunning stamp set that is and there's me saying I don't need anymore :/ Beautiful choice of colour, layering and so well matched with the twine & button. It makes me want to do a little happy dance as my brains saying... go get some crafty time!
I may just treat myself this weekend. Take good care of yourself dear Anne & carry on creating Hugs Tracey xx

  12. So sorry to hear that you were ill, and I have been wondering about your health with all this nonsense. So happy to hear you are on the upside judging from my backward visit to your blog. Your artwork does not reflect any lack of mojo, in fact I think this card is so lovely in color and what a gorgeous design!
