Tim's Tag April 2013

Hello Blog Friends

I am bringing up the rear with my entry to Tim Holtz Tags April 2013, for no other reason than I could just not come up with one that I was happy with.  So, as Tim did say that we should try different colour combinations, I did!  I went a bit pink and girly as you can see.


I followed Tim's directions where I had the products to do so,  but I used Picked Rasberry, Mowed Lawn, Weathered Wood and Brushed Pewter Distress Paints for my background.  These are my current favourite colours of Distress Paint at the moment.  I distressed the pen nib and the WordPlay die cut number 4 in the same colours.  I decided to use Idea-ology flowers instead of cogs, to match my girly colours.   I love the way the metal embellishments take the paints and how the colours stay so true once they are dry.

The gorgeous dragonfly was stamped in Archival and I loved using the Wendy Vecchi Clearly for Art  to make the second uplifting pair of wings.  I attached the wings with a staple.

The vintage ribbon was coloured in Picked Raspberry and Brushed Pewter Distress Paints (the metallics are lush) and then scrunched it up, dried with my heat gun and then added it in a bow to keep up with the girly theme.

The word  banner which says, 'the journey awakens the soul' was swiped over with Picked Raspberry DP and was attached with some pink and white bakers twine as I don't have a tiny attacher as yet.

    I love your Timmie Tag Anne - it's so much prettier than Tim's (sshhhh....... don't tell him I said that!). I haven't even started mine yet, but I guess there's a week to go! I can't wait to try out the new metallic paints, but i've got DT stuff to do before I can play. Nice to have you back by the way. Linda xx

    Gorgeous colour palette, Anne. I love the vibrancy and energy. The dragonfly is lovely and the embellies such as the flowers suit the flavour of your tag wonderfully. I really like the girlie take on this one. Well done!

    You did a great job making this tag. I love the rich pink and green on the craft tag. I also love where you put the embellishments. This dragon fly is one of my favorites especially with Tim's technique. Beautiful Anne.

    Pink and girly works perfectly for me Anne! Your tag is wonderbar!
    I keep trying to buy the dragonfly stamp but it is always out of stock at the wholesalers!
    Initially I wasn't impressed by the TH paints but they are growing on me as I play.

    Hi Anne - I'm on my rounds for a catch-up - so sorry to hear you've been unwell and that your hubby has shingles - I know from a relative how ill one can be with it. I'm not surprised you lost mojo with all that AND those builders still on the go.

    What you have crafted here and in posts below however is totally at your TOP and FABULOUS standards however and I really love your use of colour - especially all the pink! This tag is superb!
