Hello Blog Friends
I am running a little late with my Tim tag this month. This is mainly because I do like to do the tags as true to Tim's tag as possible, as I like to make a note on the back, so that I can remember the techniques that he has shown us. This month was difficult as I had virtually none of the elements required....... what's a girl to do?
Well a lovely blog friend came to the rescue and offered to send me a few of the items I was missing - aren't blogger/crafters just the most kind and generous of people? I won't name her just in case she prefers me not to, but I thank her once again for her kindness.
You can see Tim's original tag HERE. So, with a little help from a lovely blog friend, I was able to make this (click on the picture for a closer look):
I covered a No. 8 Ranger tag with some pretty blue paper from my stash (as I do not have the paper Tim used) and distressed the edges. I did the bunny backing with Tim's tinsel (which I did have in the blue colour) and attached it to my gifted die cut bunny and mat. The edges were distressed with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink. I coloured some vintage seam binding from my stash with Spun Sugar Distress Stain, dried this with my heat tool and tied it around the matted bunny. The grass edging was also a gifted item and I cut this and attached it, bending some of the grasses over to give some dimension. The flowers are from Tim's Idea-ology range and are coloured with Distress Paints (I am so in love with these paints), glued onto pins and then added to the tag. You can see below how well these paints work straight onto metal. I cannot wait to get my hands on the new metallic set of paints.........
The banner across the top was from my stash (a long since purchase from a well know auction site) and the sentiment was computer generated and attached to the banner. The banner was then coloured with Antique Linen DI and the edges were coloured with Brushed Corduroy DI. The ribbon at the top of the tag was coloured with Broken China DS.
I know that I should not have favourites but this is my favourite of all the Tim tags I have made so far, I love the colours and the lovely Spring colours (which is not matched by our winter weather!)
I am also entering this tag into Anything But a Card Challenge where the theme is Spring or Alice in Wonderland.
Thank you for looking and thank you for all the lovely comments many of you have left on my blog recently, I am always so thrilled to read them and to know that you have taken the time to visit.
If you celebrate Easter, I hope that you have a happy one and for those who do not, hope you have a lovely weekend. Big hugs, Anne xx
Another beautiful tag, Anne. Love the soft spring colours and all of the textures you have used. Haven't seen the tinsel before. It looks interesting. Still got wintery conditions? Hope your spring comes soon. We're hoping for a break to the still quite summery weather, here. have a lovely Easter. Take care. Cheers, Di
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteLove your Easter tag, the colours are so bright and cheery, perfect for Spring (whenever it arrives!). I've not even stated mine yet. This months is going to be a make do effort I think - I've only got the tinsel and a couple of the flowers!! Hopefully it will be done before Sunday.
Have a lovely Easter - not too much chocolate though! We're planning a quiet one over here - nice and relaxing! Take care. Linda xx

ReplyDeleteA lovely Tag Anne! A lovely reminder for you that Spring must soon be a stirring in your parts. Your idea of writing techniques used on the back is what I also do. So much to play with, so little time and rapidly departing memory cells - for me! C'est la Vie!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Easter. You can have my share of the chocolate:)

Oh wow Anne, I prefer yours to Tim's! It's stunning! I've been dong the same as you and writing on the back of my tags - mind you I haven't had many of the elements he's used as yet..I was so disappointed he didn't use the Easter blueprint stamps this time, but as you know I used my bunny from that set anyway! Happy Easter, hugs Carole Z xxx
ReplyDeleteI think it turned out extremely spot on for Timmy's tag! I think it's harder to do it that way than to adapt and create as you go along! Kudos to you girl! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

Love your tag! Wish I could create something similar. Wonderful job your hard-work really shows through..thanks for visiting my blog..hopefully warm weather will just surprise us real soon :)
ReplyDeleteI can see why it's a favorite, Annie! Your execution is always flawless. I love the bunny and the sweet spring colors you have used. I hope it will spur a change in the long and rotten winter you've had and spring will sprung soon. That doesn't sound right, but spring will sprang doesn't sound right either. I guess it's, "spring will spring," which is just the silliest thing I ever heard, even for me!! But I still hope it does it!! Happy Easter! xxoo Darnell

Lovely tag, Anne. I had a difficult time with supplies this month too and wasn't very happy with my end result. Ah well, it's all about the process and that part was fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, Lovely tag, I like the way you have used your blue paper out of your stash, and sanded it back on the edges, it looks like vellum. The colours make me feel happy - Spring is nearly here, yipee! I have just posted my tag even later than you ha ha we must make a pact to be one of the first entries next month to compensate, but I dont think this will happen. Hugs Mo x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and much more feminine version of Tim's tag Anne - it's a yummy one! I now realise that tinsel works at any time of year. Love the way the metal flowers have taken the paint. The blue paper works fabulously and I love its edges. You have done a fantastic job (as always)!
ReplyDeleteAt least you won't have the din of the builders over the weekend. Temps went up here today - hopefully its the same for you.
Hoppy Easter to you and yours! Nicola x
Awesome Anne. It really feels very Spring-like on your tag (let's ignore the weather!) Love your flowers and bright blue bunny. Is he a little cold? Only teasing, he looks fantastic. Hope you both have the most wonderful and relaxing Easter - just ignore the building works for a while and keep warm. Huge hugs, Jenny x
