Simon Says Stamp Designer Spotlight - Week 3

Hello Friends

It is time for my next Designer Spotlight project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

The challenge this week is 'Dry Embossing'.

I created a small journal to keep notes in.
I used four Tim Holtz 3D Embossing Folders to create the cover and the signatures.
I started with the Journal cover (cut using an Eileen Hull journal die) and used Distress Ink in Prize Ribbon to colour the whole cover, inside and out.  Next, I used the Elegant 3D Texture Fade to dry emboss the cover.   I covered the whole cover with Distress Micro Glaze to prevent transfer of the Distress Ink.  To highlight the embossing a little more I dry brushed, very lightly, over the embossing with Picket Fence Distress Paint.  The paint is permanent once dry so I did not need to add any more of the Glaze.
I used the Butterfly 3D Impresslits to cut and emboss the butterfly.  I coloured the butterfly with Distress Oxide Spray in Fossilised Amber, highlighting the body and dots with Distress Ink in

The frame is a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Baseboard Frame that I primed with Gesso and then painted with Prize Ribbon Distress Paint before stamping with Tim's Baroque stamp set inked with white ink.
Next, I created two signatures to fit inside the Journal, colouring one with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink and the other in Fossilised Amber.  The blue signature cover was dry embossed with the Tim Holtz Engraved 3D Embossing Folder and the yellow one was dry embossed with his Kaleidoscope 3D Embossing Folder.

I added words to the cover and the signatures using a discontinued Tim Holtz Alphanumeric die.
To finish off I added some ribbon, coloured with Fossilised Amber Distress Ink.

Here is a view of the completed back of the Journal.

We hope you will join in the challenge this week.

There is a $25 gift voucher for one lucky winner.

At the bottom of this post you will find a list of the products I used to create my embossed journal.

As always, thank you for your visit, it is much appreciated.

Take care and keep safe and well.

Crafty hugs, Anne xxx
