Hello Friends
My project this week as Guest Designer for AALL & Create is a journal with a difference. It is a little project that could be made as a handmade Birthday or Christmas gift.
To create the six notecards I used AALL & Create stamp sets #175 (Kaitlin Paltridge), #6 (Tracy Evans) and #165 (Tracy Evans). The notecards measure 3.7/8" x 2.1/2". The envelopes were created with a Tim Holtz die and measure 4" x 2.3/4".
For anyone who is interested, I created the two pockets using the design below. I am sharing the dimensions on light colour card so that you can read them!
To finish off I added a toggle button and elastic closure.
You can find a full list of international stockists for AALL & Create stamps and stencils HERE.
Thanks so much for your visit, I hope to see you again soon.
Hugs, Anne xxx
The journal itself is an Eileen Hull die (Sizzix ), I cut it from black mountboard and then stencilled the whole cover using AALL & Create Stencil #50 by Autour de Mwa.
I stamped AALL & Create's #175 stamp by Kailin Paltridge onto a die cut piece of white mountboard and coloured the lips with watercolour paint.
Below is a view of the inside. I created pockets and some mini cards and envelopes.
I decorated the card holders with the same stencil as the cover. To create the six notecards I used AALL & Create stamp sets #175 (Kaitlin Paltridge), #6 (Tracy Evans) and #165 (Tracy Evans). This is fantastic , Anne . such a cool idea to use the notebook to hold notecards . Love the stenciled covers- precision stenciling at its finest. (One of my fave A&C stencil designs). Your notelets are wonderful and love the monochrome palette with the pops of red.
ReplyDeleteA really cool project .

ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful bank holiday weekend xxx
Oh Anne I wasn't expecting to see this whilst playing catch up today. What a handy notelet holder. The stenciling is so striking and I love how you continued the design on the inside too. This is one that could be stocked up with notelets over and over again with your well designed pocket holder, they all fit so neatly inside. I may just have to borrow that idea ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the inspiration.
Hope your having a smashing Bank Holiday weekend.
Big Hugs Tracey xx
Absolutely wonderful Anne. So much talent in everything you do. Perfection in my eyes. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteLoving this Anne and what a great gift it would be. Wishing you a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, Angela xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant gift this would make - I was obsessed with notecard wallets and stationery collections when I was a child (signs of things to come, perhaps?!) - though mostly in a more vintage style, even then! There's such a cool, sleek look to this collection - very stylish.

This is gorgeous Anne. The black and white and that pop of red are so striking ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Anne for your helpful measurements for the pocket holder which I have tried to replicate today. I'm a centimetre person so had a bit of difficulty working out the size of the original piece. Got that sorted but I'm having problems trying to work out the bottom folds as there is too much bulk. Can you please help with how the bottom part of the holder works? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Shairon, apologies, I am an inches person. I score all the elements really well with a bone folder. Starting at the bottom, fold it up and then bring each side in separately, gluing each one as you go. Clamp each one together until the glue is dry. I am not sure where you are based but I used 300 gsm cardstock (very thick) to do the black pockets and they worked just fine. You could mitre each of the corners to reduce the bulk, but it would make it a bit more difficult to glue the pockets down. I hope you will let me know how it goes. Anne x
DeleteThanks for your explanation Anne. I'm in the UK. I used cereal packet with paper glued over. I woke at 4.30 this morning and was thinking if I were to cut out the little square on the bottom left and right that that might work. I'll give it a try later. I lived in Europe for 21 years and got used to working in metric measurements. Eighths of inches are a total mystery to me! x
DeleteShairon, that is exactly the right thing to do, it should look like the photo above and it should all fold in nicely after that. Best of luck! xx
DeleteThis is so stunning Anne!! I love the black and white with that gorgeous pop of red .. so artistic! Such a fabulous way to use the Journal die! I really love the inside and the fabulous little note cards! Awesome project!! hugs xx
ReplyDeleteI love that bold stencil work and the dramatic pop of red on the cover, Anne! This s a great idea to make the booklet to hold a set of cards--useful and beautiful! A great gift idea that I may just have to steal! Thank you for the pocket measurements, too! Hugs!
