Hello Friends
Just a quick post to share what I made at the fabulous Ministry of Mixology class, last weekend, that I attended with some lovely and talented friends (Jennie, Julia and Nikki from A Vintage Journey) and of course, the amazing talent that is Andy Skinner!
It never ceases to amaze me how chipboard can be transformed into something
that looks like metal, I just love this piece! It measure 9" x 12" approximately.

Rusty wire was added to the heart and in the background are some of Andy's
new stamp release (which of course I had to buy...). I am late posting this as I had not finished

ReplyDeleteFantastic pieces. I love the heart frame and I guessed correctly about the substrate. This is one retreat I would have loved to attend. All the wonderful techniques from great artists in one spot - to die for. I don't doubt for a second that you had a blast and your work shows it.

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing to think it is chipboard under this rusty textured overlap sectioned piece. It looks as though it may have rested years upon the ocean bed...loving the wonderful patina and all the rivet sections. What a unique shadowbox with the folk heart inside and that perfect background. Love your apron and all the class goodies too. Easy to see you had a productive and grand time! TFS & Hugs

ReplyDeleteYou are so Avant Garde! I know you thoroughly enjoyed this class!!!! Seems to me that making all this faux metal would be a good thing to know at Halloween. Odd - the funkier you become, the more I drift into my cutesy pretend world. That is a nice size piece - where are you going to hang it? It is pretty spectacular Anne. Darn, it looks so really real! If I know anything, I know you definitely do not have a heart of steel!
