Hello Friends
I am back to share my Tim Tag, I hope that you all had a
wonderful Easter weekend, ours was quite quiet but we enjoyed a little time in the
garden before the weather turned....
I ended up doing two tags, just because I enjoyed the techniques so much! I pretty
much followed Tim's tutorial which you can see HERE.
much followed Tim's tutorial which you can see HERE.
The tag and corrugated layer were die cut.
After applying the two Remix Techniques, the die cut tag was coloured with Tim's Distress Crayons.
Foil was added here and there.
To finish off, one of the new word bands was added and coloured with the Distress Crayon, it is so much easier with the crayons than paint, in my humble opinion.
I wasn't totally happy with the look of the Distress Crayons on my tag and I was reading a post by Paula Cheney, here, where she used a wet wipe (not a really wet one) so I tried it and it worked a lot better for me, you can see the result in my second tag.
I think the colours look a little brighter with the wet wipe technique and the crayons blended much more easily.
Again, the wording is coloured with Distress Crayons.
Finally, here they are side by side.
Thanks so much for looking, I hope to see you again soon.
Hugs, Anne xx
2 fabulous tags Anne and I agree about the wet wipe technique and isn't it much easier to use the crayons on metal embellishments...I never seemed to have much success with paint...take care and stay safe...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs Anne and I love the double take and the symmetry of the last photo. Xx
ReplyDeleteWow Anne, two gorgeous tags here, the colours on the wet wiped one seem much more vibrant with them blending better, but perhaps thats just me. Love the last photo with the two together. Fabulous take on Tin's. Mo x
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous tags ..... the colours look amazing. xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic Anne, love your version(s) of the original! Such a clever way to use the techniques and I just love how you used both sides of the butterfly, so clever. They look super together!
ReplyDeletegreat tags Anne and I love the outcome on both pieces x thanks for sharing your tips too x
ReplyDeleteWe had a reasonably quiet Raster with the kids over for a meal later in the afternoon x
Delighted Spring is here....yay x
Huge hugs Annie x
Gorgeous work Anne! Both tags are beautiful in their own way. The little detail that I especially love is the ribbon you threaded through the metal sentiment plate.

Beautiful tags, Anne. The plain manilla tag looks so beautiful all on its own after you die cut it. Yum! That's interesting about the baby wipe technique - I'll have to remember that. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful Anne - and look especially terrific in the last shot. I do prefer the look you've achieved on the 2nd with the wet wipe. Love the new word bands. Nicola x
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful tags Anne. I use wet wipes on the crayons - a technique I learnt when using Gellatos. You can also use the wet wipe through a stencil to take some of the colour away to create a design.

Great tags....I'm with you, the colour on the left hand one is so much better and a great tip...thanks! ELaine xx
ReplyDeleteA fabulous couple of tags! I love the right one, the texture looks like a speculoo biscuit! And I love the contrast of the colours.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Love the cut-out from the corrugated darkness, adding in the sparkling butterfly. I just got some of these crayons, but not used as yet, so will appreciate that tip you passed along. While both are so pretty, I do think I like your 2nd one best, as the colors of the butterfly seem more vibrant & intense. But they are both just so very pretty. TFS & for sharing the link too. Hugs
ReplyDeleteBoth of your tags are gorgeous, Anne!! I love how you added the photo of them side by side!! The colors and designs are fabulous!! Perfect take on Tim's tag!! And thanks for the tip on the baby wipes...I need to get the Distress Crayons now!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Love how you made the two halves :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to play with new products, even if you don't like the initial results. Eventually you figure it out. Your tags are just brilliant, seems you nailed the crayons for sure. Love love love how you split the butterfly in half! Just such an amazing take on Tim's original! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you've played to find out what works for you best and actually love both of them for different reasons. The crayons are perfect on metal and a little bit of gesso underneath seems to help too. Thank you for sharing as ever xxx
ReplyDeleteAnne, these side by side tags are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your steps and experimenting while creating both. I'm glad to know about the baby wipes as I was not totally in love with hoe the distress crayons blended out. I'll give that a try! Your butterflies are stunning against the darker backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteAnne, I love the butterfly colored wing showing through the corrugated cardboard! What a fabulous take on Tim's March tag. I wish I had more time to visit blogs as I sure miss all the details that you just can see on FB! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great pair, your tags turned out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic take on Tim's March tag, Anne! They are both incredibly beautiful! What a clever idea to split the butterfly in half! Love it! Big hugs! Branka xx
ReplyDeleteThese are both fabulous Anne! Glad you found a way to use your new goodies that suits you! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteSeeing them side-by-side is really exquisite, Annie! I can't help thinking how brilliant they would look side-by-side like that in a shadow box! I agree with you about the wet wipe approach on those crayons colors and it's cool how you could color the metal sediment tag with the crayons! Once again, you did Tim proud!! I hope you get some more sunny days soon! Love, Darnell xxoo
ReplyDeleteMove the side by side! Wonderful layers and your little metal sentiments are awesome sauce! Both tags are stunning and I am so very thankful for your honest feedback about these crayons. I have seen a few posts about people having problems blending the crayons or trying to blend out the lines. Thanks very much dearie! Hugz to you muffin! ~Niki
ReplyDeleteTrust you to find a way to move the technique to the next level, very clever Anne. Have a great day. Hugs, Angela x
