Hello Everyone!
Apologies, I have been missing for a wee while - nothing serious, just a few technical issues which, fingers crossed, have been resolved now. Apologies if I owe you a visit!
You can see Tim's tag HERE, as usual I did not have many of the things he used so I had to improvise. I ended up doing two tags and I could not decide which I liked best, so I will show you both!
I used the Acorn Blueprint stamp and the background was created using the Dots Stamp from the Dots and Florals set.
I followed Tim's instructions using Picket Fence Distress Paint, followed by Distress Spray Stains in Rusty Hinge and Antique Linen.
The acorn has been coloured with Distress Inks and the edges of the tag were finished off with Ranger Foil Sheets (Vintage set). You can see a little of the shine in the above photo, I love these foil sheets, they do give a lovely vintage feel.
Now for my second tag:
I tried an experiment with the fabulous new Lucky Clover and Ground Espresso Distress Spray Stains, I was not sure at first about the combination but when it dried I just loved it!
I also wanted to try out Tim's technique where he creates his own colour of ink pad, but unfortunately I don't have the clear base ink pad so I spread a lot of different autumn colours onto my glass mat, spritzed with water and dragged my Ranger Watercolour card through it. Not as good a Tim's but I did like the result. I stamped and cut out my maple leaf from one of the pieces.
I really like the colour of the leaf against the background...
Thanks for looking, I hope to see you again soon.
Hugs, Anne xxx
Gorgeous tags Anne, So glad you showed both, no wonder you couldn't narrow down to one. Agree that the unusual colourways work brilliantly in the second. Wonderful take as always. Have a lovely weekend. Nicola x
ReplyDeleteWow Anne! two beautiful versions of Tim's tag - I LOVE the polkadot backgrounds - the peachy color on the first with the cute acorn and the wonderful greeny/blue setting off your wonderful fall leaf - well done and so inspiring!! Funny that we both just got around to getting them done!! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteLove the tags Anne and pleased to hear you are back.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Angela x
Both are amazing tags Anne. I too would be hard push to choose but the acorn just edges forward for me.

Both tags are fabulous! It's so hard to choose a favourite so I am not going to! I love both of them! xxx
ReplyDeletei love them both!!! the acorn's colours are magnificent and the blue background is spectacular!! beautiful work as always!! xox
ReplyDeleteOf course, both are just wonderful, I'm leaning towards #2, because I love the blue (my Clover is on order). The colors combined so nicely as you've done them on this pretty tag, and that maple leaf is superb. I think your technique to get the foliage colors turned out splendid...and your improvisation always impresses me. It's probably easy to do TH's techniques if you have the same supplies (well, it would be for YOU!), but to me, the achievement that is more impressive: you get marvelous results with your imagination and using what you have! TFS & have a wonderful wkend.
ReplyDeletelove both your adapt and overcome tags Anne as always...great to have you back...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant as ever Anne! I LOVE that Lucky Clover and Ground Espresso combo! As you say it works perfectly with the autumnal leaf. Jenny x
