First, I would like to thank my latest new followers for joining me on my crafty journey. Next, I would like to apologise to any of you that I have not visited lately. I have been full of a summer cold which has made me feel pretty miserable and I have been trying to spend less time on the computer.
I am off to London at the end of the month so see the wonderful artist that is Wendy Vecchi and I made a Document Holder to carry all the things we need for the trip.
I am off to London at the end of the month so see the wonderful artist that is Wendy Vecchi and I made a Document Holder to carry all the things we need for the trip.
To start I used a Manila File Folder which I cut in half, folded to create two inner pages and then I got out Tim Holtz's fabulous Correspondence Paper pad to create this:
Once folded I covered the inside and outside of the file folder with Correspondence Papers. For the front I used the Picture Wheel die and then added the word London using Tim's Alphanumeric Thinlits die set.
Big Ben is stamped from London Sights and the view is from the Cityscapes stamp set.
A couple of pockets were added to the first two pages along with Alphanumeric letters, Remnant Rubs and the rest of the Cityscape view.
On the inside back pages I added an envelope from the Bigz envelope die and attached another pocket on the inside back page.
I used Wendy Vecchi's Archival Ink and Embossing Powder in Red Geranium to cover the Idea-ology clip and the double decker bus charm is from my stash.
A view of the back cover and Tim's beautiful papers. The finished folder measures 6" x 4.1/2", is not too bulky and will fit nicely into my handbag/purse.
Many of the items I used can be purchased from Inspiration Emporium, if you do shop there and use my code Redanne, you will receive a 10% discount from your whole purchase.
Thanks for looking, I will be back on Tuesday to share some 3D projects for Eileen Hull's
Art With Heart Challenge. Hugs, Anne xx

This is wonderful Anne, your design is amazing. I love the papers and fabulous detailing too.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are unwell. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Take care, hugs Sue xx
Poor you, summer colds are the worst..It just seems to take so long to get one gone. Praying you will be feeling tiptop real soon, and until then, give yourself lots of TLC and don't worry about blogging or crafting. You amaze me with the ideas you create to show off the TH products and all the useful projects you develop. This one is so super with the London ideaology goodies that you've tucked around. Loved the way you've done the time die, it made me think of that huge ferris wheel that I see on lots of London sites (I'm not sure what it is actually called, but the big WHEEL thing-y, that would terrify me to go on it. Bet the views are splendid though). Again, you always have just THE perfect embellie, and the little bus is so cute and apt. Loved all the patriotic Brit colors, and just think of all the interesting items you can hide away in this clever & amazing folder. Great work, as always. Feel better soon. TFS & Hugs.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have been choked up with a summer cold. Can't believe how quick our London trip is going to be upon us. Look forward to seeing your folder it looks super with great details.

ReplyDeleteYUCK! Nothing worse than a summer cold. Hope it goes away fast. We had our first winter snow on our local mountains which are about a 3 hour drive away, but it feels like it snowed in my lounge! We kid ourselves in this country that it does not get rediculously hot in summer or freezing in winter. Our houses are built for spring and autumn cos we don't have double glazing or central heating. So we freeze (like now) or fry. I have not yet had my winter cold and plan on keeping it that way, but hey, you can't get away from it eventually! I love your folder and hope that by the time you get to London that your cold will be long forgotten and that you have a faberoonie time with Wendy. Meeting her is on my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteFabulous folder and as always great attention to detail. Lucky you getting a place on Wendy's workshop and i hope you feel better soon. Elaine xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful document holder for your trip to London. Please, please, take lots of pictures. How very special to see Wendy Vecchi - I assume you will be taking a class? I sure do hope you are well by then - I started a summer cold right before our trip to Peru. Art has it now and he seems quite ill. Get lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids and take some cold medicine if you can. Of course you know all that don't you!!
ReplyDeleteTake care Sugar -
