Hello fellow Woywwers and Bloggers
It has been a while. I have certainly missed joining in. Firstly I would like to thank my latest followers, it is lovely to have you along on my journey of learning and developing. Thank you also to all of those who contacted me to enquire after me, I am much better now and hopefully will remain that way.
If you are wondering what on earth WOYWW is all about then please pop over to see our wonderful Hostess, Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk and join in the fun!
My desk this week is a sad affair but I did have a huge win over at Snazzys where I won November's design kit and it comprises the most wonderful Teresa Collins paper pack, stamps and embellishments. You can see them on the left hand side of my desk, they are gorgeous. I have had to hide what I am making with them because it is not finished yet.
In the middle of my desk is another brown paper bag album (similar to the Nutcracker one a few posts ago). This is a commission for a little girl who does ballet and she is being taken to see the Nutcracker ballet as a Christmas gift. Her sister is having the earlier Nutcracker album. They are being given the albums with the ballet tickets inside - how sweet.
Here is a closer look at some of the inside:
On the right is some knitting, also for a Christmas present.
Well that's all from me, I am still making Christmas cards. I have posted my international ones and nearly had to take out a mortgage to pay for them. The cost of postage here in the UK has become ridiculous and I am not a happy bunny, but family and friends are important so I gritted my teeth and paid up!
Hope you are all well and I look forward to visiting as many of you as possible. If you do visit I hope you will leave a comment, I always do my best to return the compliment. Happy WOYWW! Hugs, Anne x
G'day Anne, I think it's a lovely idea to make an album for the occasion yours is for, seems to be a few of these paper bag albums being made, and oh gosh I've just got used to making tags lol.
ReplyDeletePostage costs here in Aust are also exhorbitant, such a shame really 'cause I think more people would send cards if it was cheaper.
Here's to a great crafty week.
Elaine
ps. thanks for your kind comment on my tag.
Good morning Anne
ReplyDeleteLovely to see all your marvellous craft results on your desk.
We made boxes last night at our craft club, everyone loved it. So thank you for showing us. I also took the paper bag album you left us and a few members thought they might like to have a go at that too.
Enjoy your day my friend. Love to you both.
Lynn x x x
Ps how's little Evie ?
Hi Anne, the album is such a brilliant idea - adds to the excitement! I'm with you on the foreign postage, had to post several to Italy, the US, Canada and even Australia and nearly fainted with the cost! Carole Z X
ReplyDeletesome lovely makes Anne and I agree with the postage thing...disguting...have a great woyww trace x
ReplyDeleteLots of fun projects on the go. Love the look of the paper bag album adn the story of what they will be used for!
ReplyDeleteI hate the way postage has risen. You might have read my posts lately about trying to jump the hoops of keeping my handmade cards the right depth to pass through the $1.80 postage for overseas. I ahnd deliver as many cards as possible. With the holiday season full of parties and get togethers, that is great for the locals. That leaves me mailing to out of town friends and family and overseas. I am determined each year to keep them to the one postage amount but boy those have to be skinny cards!
Those Nutcracker albums will make such a gorgeous gift in themselves, never mind the tickets inside! So pretty... And congratulations on that lovely Snazzys loot - can't wait to see what you're up to with it. Lovely to have you back on the snoopy bloghop trail - happy WOYWW!

Beautiful album and such a special idea and keepsake of the ballet for those little girls. Congrats on your prize .. I won a Letraset prize via Darcy too!
ReplyDeleteBTW that wasn't a shop window , all around the town they have a series of little log cabins with animated scenes from children's stories with a recorded stories. They are so lovely and, of course, the children love them. It does, however, make it very hard to shop quickly!
Love Jo x
PS Glad you are feeling much better!

Congrats on the fantastic win, Annie! Perfect timing to get you back in the swing of things. And, wait, you knit, too? You guys all make me feel so underdeveloped! But I'll get over it.

I love your album, Anne - really pretty. As you know I'm doing a paper bag album at the moment. Can I ask you where you got your bags from? I happened to have some carriers left over but had to cut the handles off.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better.
Thanks for your comment - the only reason my desk is reasonably tidy is that I've just finished a particular stage on my album and had tidied up a bit, ready for the next! The table at the side is another matter though - heaped up with card scraps and notes for my album. (I didn't show anybody that!)
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #55
