Hello Fellow WOYWWers and Happy 4th July to all our American WOYWWers
This is that time of week when we show the world at large what is on our workdesks and yikes, mine is one big mess! If you want to follow along then please visit our Mistress of Ceremonies, Julia, who will tell you all, over at: http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/
This week I have entered a few challenges and as a result my desk looks very messy indeed. I was too tired to clear up last night so this is what it looks like this morning:-
By the end of the day it will be all lovely and tidy again, my dear Son is coming to visit this weekend and my craft room doubles as a spare room - you never see the other half of it which has a lovely comfy Futon which makes into a bed.
On my desk is a drawer full of lovely flowers, my Compendium II and up on the top shelf is the article I made yesterday, still in it's photographic position. If you are interested in seeing it close up please look at yesterday's post. I really enjoyed making it although it took me well outside my comfort zone. In the foreground are four woodblocks that I got from Ebay, they are ATC sized and I am waiting for inspiration to strike! Right at the front is my drink of tea and just peeking out in the corner is an embroidery leaflet that the lovely Lynn (Doodly Bird) Holland sent to me with an order that I placed. She is very kind.
I am looking forward to seeing your desks today. If you do stop by I hope you will leave me a comment and I will do my very best to return the compliment. Happy WOYWW, Crafty hugs, Anne xx

ReplyDeleteMorning Anne, I had just got to your page when duty called (needed to sort son out for school and do a few chores) Was just pearing into your desk photo to find the Timmy item and have since checked out yesterday's post. It is superb, right down to the bead feet. Absolutely adorable. Thanks for stopping by BJ#18
ReplyDeleteA very inspiring desk. I want your box of flowers, although I have no idea what I'd do with it! And at the other end of the scale, the blocks of wood would be cool to have too.

ReplyDeleteYour desk looks like you have been busy creating! I got nosy and peeked back at your previous post...It is stunning...WOW! Such talent!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind post on my empty gazebo...devoid of all crafting this week. The pictures are so dark as it has been storming and pouring down buckets of rain for 2 months now.
Finally have some sunshine today and it is supposed to get to 39C during the next 5 days...YAY summer is finally here!
you desk looks like you have been busy

Sure you have enough flowers there Anne? Thought it was only me who bulk buys, but then you can never have enough pretty flowers. All mine are in a plastic bag in the wardrobe - not the best place but needs must. Love the box you made yesterday and the butterfly is beautiful - do I need some of that clearly for art stuff?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me.

Hi Ann, I do like it now, didn't at first, you do need to work quickly with it whilst it is warm. Suggest you try the mixed pack first before committing to individual colours. A x
DeleteOh boy, it looks a bit like mine does right now! :) Carole Z X
ReplyDeleteSo many glorious flowers in one place. When my desk is messy, I know that I have been creating some lovely pieces and so have you. #17
ReplyDeleteHi Anne! First, wow, your talent amazes me and I admire you for going out of your comfort zone in the process! That's the second desk I've seen with the TH Compendium book. He is quite the merchandizer and well-loved, isn't he?!
ReplyDeleteSecond, have a lovely weekend with Son! And a great week coming up! Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes! Darnell

I think I forgot everything you wrote, all I can remember is that big drawer full of flowers and how I would love to play in them, lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina with a hot dog in one hand and a flag in the other! :) #37
ReplyDelete...super work space Anne & it doesn't look messy at all to me, fabby box of flowers and the Tim Book looks the business, at some point I need to get numbers one & two...It's an expensive hobby, when I started at christmas I had not one thing, so my stash is slowly building...I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with those wooden blocks...Melxx :)
ReplyDeleteour photo place looks like it's in a good place, mine's too low and the day light bulb lamp often gets in the way! Love all those flowers, I need more!!!Love the TH Book...I picked it up once!! But had to put it down again as it burnt my fingers! Happy WOYWW!!

ReplyDeleteYour work space looks very tidy to me. Your project yesterday is beautiful. have a fun visit with your son.
ReplyDeleteLovely work space there, Anne, and it all looks pretty organised! I loved your project that you showed yesterday - so beautiful! Gorgeous box of flowers too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment, and glad you like my ATCs! I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you.
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #25
Anne, thank you so much for taking the trouble to follow that up, and have a look at my blog! Glad you like my hubby's project. Yes, it took a while, made all the more difficult because I had to keep yelling at him "Don't come in!!" and he kept forgetting lol! I made another similar one for our nephew's wedding in August - I did a blog post about that too, but unfortunately the pics of the finished project weren't so good - I made a butterfly for that one, with junk beads from last year's fete for the butterfly body lol! Lovely projects to do. I adore working with reflective surfaces.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments about my art! Very much appreciated. I have sold a very few pieces - people seem reluctant to part with their money these days, I'm afraid, but I hope to sell some more as time goes on.
Thanks again!
Shoshi #25
I neeeed to rummage in those fabby flowers, move over this minute :) Di xx
ReplyDeleteAnne - thanks so much for your latest comment, and of course you can buy the blue tropical fish drawing! I will email you with details.
ReplyDeleteShoshi
Have a great visit with your son, and thanks for the peek! Those are a lovely bunch of flowers. Happy WOYWW! -Amanda x45
ReplyDeleteSorry i'm late, don't know where yesterday went, i wouldn't say that your desk is so much a mess as it is just a little disheveled lol
ReplyDeleteHugz Minxy #19
Those flowers are a fabulous heap of colour loveliness and your project from Tuesday is absolutely amazing! xx
ReplyDeleteSometimes seeing desks in disarray is a cool thing because then there is so much more to behold. That drawer of flowers looks like so much fun to play with. And I spy a little sheep in the background and he made me smile.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteLots of flowers there! I have a few glass jars full to the brim - but have never used any of them..... what's up with that?
I will have to read about your other project - it looks amazing! Oh, and about the blocks of wood. I read somewhere in blog land to go to your local lumber shop and ask them to cut the wood for you - they usually charge a bit per cut (plus the cost of the board). Don't know if that would be cheaper for you or not.
Thanks for visiting me and leaving a lovely comment. I was off celebrating my independence so am visiting desks today.
Hugs,
Kay #27
Your flower drawer is so like mine ... I love flowers and that compendium is on my wish list , Fabulous craft studio Anne Hugs Elaine
ReplyDeleteI should invest in a 'lovely comfy Futon' instead of the heeaaavvvyyy little love seat hide-a-bed we have in my craft room. Yes it is beautiful colours...but, so awkward to move ...forget it ... I can't even lift it. I've hired movers for that and the fridge...I draw the line! Even if my husband does call me his little burro...I refuse! It's killing off this little (old) burro....
ReplyDeletebelated happy WOYWW! wow, that's a lot of beautiful flowers to work with!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!
