A warm welcome to my new followers, I am so delighted that you have joined me, I just hope I can live up to expectations!
This is my entry for Tim's Tags for May. Again, I did not have most of the required products but I think I am getting quite good at 'winging' it. For me that is part of the challenge.
I covered the manilla tag with some vellum that I got ages ago from Kanban, inked the edges with Frayed Burlap DI, cut down a Tim Holtz birdcage die and a dress form die, added an empty cotton spool which I chopped in half (don't ask!) and covered in packaging twine. The red stamp at the top is from a railway set of stamps by Creative Expressions.
The flowers were a little more difficult, I got an empty mini pie dish (mince pie I think), put some clear embossing powder in, held on to the tin with tweezers and heated it. Once melted I dipped the flowers in (which I lightly inked with DI first) and voila - they don't look too bad. You do need to be very quick with this method or find a second pair of hands to help.
If you do visit I hope you will leave me a comment, I love to read them and I always try to repay the compliment (I am not on Facebook or Pinterest though). Crafty hugs, Anne x

Hi Redanne, thanks for your comment on my Timmy Tag - I have been inspired even further with the theme since, making cards and adding to past LOs. Anyway, I did ponder the foil case method for the embossing (have been beavering them away for some time) but impatience always gets the better of me, glad you tried it though and the tip to be quick will be stored for future possibilities - LOL. YES I too bought that Kanban vellum set, wondered at the time why there were lady things in the gentlemen's collection but jolly glad there were now. Love how you have used the sewing/bird dies - great tag - BJ
ReplyDeleteGreat tag Anne. Love the clever way you made your dress form and I agree, improvising is the best part of the fun.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your lovely winnings lately. I noticed your name in Tims post straight away, lucky girl. You got some great stamps!
Great tag Anne, I love it! I too tried the foil with the UTEE but gave up in the end, and went down another route. You've got great results, your flowers are really pretty. And as for chopping a spool in half well you're braver than I am - well done! xx
